Pashinyan and Macron Meet: What Was Discussed

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. This was reported by the Government of Armenia.

During the conversation, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of holding the "Ambitions: Armenia-France" conference in Paris and expressed confidence that it would provide new impetus to the development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, education, science, and culture.

The parties highlighted that the Armenian-French cooperation, based on mutual trust and friendship, will develop with renewed vigor in the near future through discussions and implementations of various joint projects.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that the Armenian government is interested in expanding the presence of French businesses in the Armenian market. Cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, reservoir construction, agriculture, and others was emphasized.

Emmanuel Macron, for his part, highlighted France's readiness and interest in deepening ties with friendly Armenia in economic and humanitarian areas.

The interlocutors also discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. The Prime Minister deemed any attempt to escalate the situation as unacceptable and mentioned that Azerbaijan continues its provocative actions both in Artsakh and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, resulting in one casualty and injuries on the Armenian side on March 7.

The dialog partners underscored the importance of a comprehensive resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and the implementation of the trilateral statements signed after the 44-day war.
