Nationalists Preparing Provocations with Chemical Substances in Ukraine, Says Russian Defense Ministry Official

The official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, has reported that nationalists in Ukraine are preparing provocations using toxic materials, intending to later accuse Russia of allegedly using chemical weapons.

He noted that around 80 tons of ammonia have been delivered to the village of Zolochiv, northwest of Kharkov, for this purpose.

“On the night of March 9, Ukrainian nationalists transported approximately 80 tons of ammonia to the village of Zolochiv, located northwest of Kharkov. According to residents who left Zolochiv, the nationalists are instructing them on how to act properly in the event of a chemical attack. All this indicates that Ukrainian nationalists are preparing provocations using toxic materials to accuse Russia of allegedly using chemical weapons,” said Konashenkov.
