62-Year-Old Uncle Beaten to Death

On March 5, at 03:15, the police received a report about a body in one of the houses on Melik Sargsyan Street in Gyumri. At 03:30, a citizen called the Kumayri police from Moscow, requesting that officers urgently approach the specified house on Melik Sargsyan Street.

The dispatched operational-investigative group discovered the body of 62-year-old Vram H. at the aforementioned house. The police reported that external examination revealed bodily injuries on the corpse. A forensic examination has been appointed. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 112, Part 2, Point 14 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

As a result of joint operational-search measures and investigative actions conducted by the officers of the Shirak Regional Police Department, as well as the Mush and Kumayri divisions, a 38-year-old man named Swmbat H. was taken into custody on suspicion of causing bodily harm. He confessed that on March 4, around 22:00, under the influence of alcohol, he had beaten his 62-year-old uncle, who subsequently died. Swmbat H. has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
