World Bank to Provide Half a Billion Dollar Loan to Ukraine
The World Bank (WB) will provide nearly half a billion dollars in loans to Ukraine. This was stated in a press release following discussions between World Bank President David Malpass and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the Bank's announcement, Malpass mentioned during the conversation that an additional loan for Kyiv is being presented for approval to the Board of Directors. He also noted that this loan is being augmented with guarantees from bilateral partners such as the Netherlands and Sweden, allowing the total amount to reach almost $500 million.
Additionally, the WB President is working on providing an extra $200 million in assistance to Ukraine by the end of March of the current year. For this purpose, the international organization is preparing new projects and renovations of existing ones.
