The World is Too Big for Europe or the US to Isolate a Country Like Russia, Peskov

The pressure from a number of European countries or the US sanctions cannot ensure the isolation of a country like Russia. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, to reporters on Saturday, as reported by TASS.

“Of course, there is a suspension of relations, a reduction in economic ties, and the introduction of various restrictive measures in the economy by several states — European countries, the US, Canada, Japan, and a number of other countries. But that does not mean the isolation of Russia. The world is too big for Europe and America to isolate any country, especially one as large as Russia,” said the Kremlin spokesman.

Peskov also noted that there is now an extraordinary situation in the Russian economy. Programs are being developed to support the Russian economy under sanctions, including daily consultations with the government and President Vladimir Putin.

“Russia has been, is, and will be a country searching for mutually beneficial relations with foreign businesses, striving for investment attractiveness. Yes, it is difficult to talk about investment attractiveness right now, but times change quickly. And these times will be replaced by a period of economic rapid growth,” he assured.

According to Peskov, there will come a time when foreign companies “will return to the Russian market again and will be more than interested in reclaiming what they have missed and restoring their positions.”
