Blizzard in Ashotzk, Amasia, and Lanjik Regions of Shirak Province and on the Saravan-'Zanger' Highway
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate highways within the Republic of Armenia. The roads from the 'Amberd' high-mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and the Stone Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Saravan-'Zanger', Artik-Alagyaz highways in Shirak Province are difficult to navigate, while the Gorayk-Saravan highway is closed for trucks. There is a blizzard in the Ashotzk, Amasia, and Lanjik regions of Shirak Province and on the Saravan-'Zanger' highway.
In Vayots Dzor Province, the town of Jermuk, in Kotayk Province, the city of Abovyan, and in Shirak Province, snow is falling in the regions of Akhuryan, Maralik, Artik, Jajur, and Kethi.
In Vayots Dzor Province, on the Sevan-Martuni, Lanjik-Mastara highways in Shirak Province, and in Aragatsotn Province's Aparan, Aragats, Talin regions, there are instances of black ice due to fog.
Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles. Approximately 475 trucks are waiting on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
