Blinken is Confident Ukraine Can Win the War Against Russia
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told the BBC that he is confident Ukraine can win the war against Russia. He was unable to specify how long the conflict would last but asserted that Ukraine's defeat is not inevitable.
Blinken praised the "extraordinary resilience" of the Ukrainian people. When asked if he believes Ukrainians can win, he responded, "Over time, absolutely." He added, "If Moscow's intention is to somehow topple the government and establish its own puppet regime, then 45 million Ukrainians will reject that in one way or another."
According to Blinken, the war is not going as Russian President Vladimir Putin had planned. He stated that the international community is committed to doing everything possible to assist Ukraine, as well as to apply "harsh pressure on Russia to end this selective war initiated by Vladimir Putin."
It is worth recalling that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the commencement of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine.
