Video: Residents of Artsakh Go to Fields With Their Children, Azerbaijani Threats Fail to Intimidate Them - Situation in Kharamor

On February 25, Azerbaijani forces from positions near the village of Kharamor in the Askeran region urged residents via loudspeaker in Armenian to leave the village, claiming it belongs to them.

Residents of Kharamor shared information and videos on social media, featuring the voice of the Azerbaijanis speaking in Armenian: “We call on you to stop any engineering work and to immediately leave our territory. Otherwise, we will use force. Responsibility for the losses will fall on you. You are in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan; any activities conducted here are regulated by Azerbaijani laws.”

In response to the incident, the National Security Service of Artsakh issued a statement indicating that it is working to enhance the security level in Kharamor and other communities in the Askeran region. The statement noted that the service is also negotiating with Russian peacekeeping forces to eliminate the tools of psychological warfare employed by Azerbaijan.

One week after the incident, Auroranews contacted Hunan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Artsakh, to understand the current situation in Kharamor and whether residents are carrying out their agricultural work.

“Since February 28, farmers have not been obstructed in any way. As of now, everything is calm; police are present and providing reinforced service in the adjacent areas of all border communities, and they are in constant contact with community leaders. Russian peacekeepers are also there and are carrying out their duties,” Tadevosyan stated.
