Macron Holds Phone Conversations with Putin and Zelensky
French President Emmanuel Macron has held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed by a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, AFP reports. Macron's conversation with Putin lasted for 1.5 hours. No further details have been disclosed.
It is worth recalling that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation aimed at the demilitarization of Ukraine.
In his televised address, he stated that circumstances 'demand decisive and immediate actions, as the DNR and LNR have requested assistance from Russia.' According to the Russian leader, the entire responsibility for the bloodshed will fall on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian soldiers to disregard the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, lay down their arms, and return home.
