Deputy Head of Avan Administrative District Detained, Used Syringe Found

On February 26, police, as part of intensified operations, detained two individuals on suspicion of drug possession on Tigran Mets Avenue, one of whom was Nerses Poghosyan, the 42-year-old deputy head of the Avan Administrative District, while the other was Seyran Sargsyan, a 42-year-old resident of Yerevan.

The information was reported by shamshyan.com. A used syringe was found on N. Poghosyan. According to reports, he claimed that he discovered the syringe in a park located in the 2nd mass of Nor Nork the evening before.

Materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Erevan police regarding the incident. Police have also detained three young individuals for allegedly selling drugs through Telegram.

A forensic examination has been appointed. N. Poghosyan and S. Sargsyan have since been released.
