VIDEO: We Are Ready to Meet the Russians in Baku, Istanbul, or Elsewhere, But Not in Belarus
President Zelensky has stated that Kyiv desires peace and negotiations with the Russian Federation, according to TASS news agency.
In a statement posted on his Telegram channel, Zelensky offered Warsaw, Budapest, Istanbul, and Baku as potential platforms for negotiations with Russia, adding that any other city would be suitable as well.
“We want to meet, we want the war to end. We have suggested Warsaw, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku to the Russian side, and any other city from which missiles are not flying is acceptable to us,” he stated.
Zelensky also addressed the Belarusian people, wishing that the country “becomes kind and safe again.”
The Ukrainian president mentioned that Kyiv would agree to negotiations in Belarus if there were no military actions from that country. He emphasized that negotiations could take place in other countries, but not in Belarus. “If there were no aggressive actions from your territories, we could discuss it in Minsk, your city. Right now, we are saying no to Minsk; other cities can be venues for the meeting,” Zelensky highlighted.
