The West is Pushing Russia Towards a Third World War, Says Lukashenko
The response from Minsk and Moscow to the West's sanctions will be significant, but both countries will act cautiously—without harming themselves. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated this during a conversation with reporters, according to RIA Novosti.
“These mechanisms have begun to function. If necessary, in order not to shoot ourselves in the foot or in the head, we will create these mechanisms,” Lukashenko said.
“There are sanctions that are worse than war. They push Russia towards a third world war. Here we must be restrained, so as not to fall into a trial. Because a nuclear war is everything,” emphasized Lukashenko.
He noted that he had discussed the Western sanctions against Moscow and Minsk with Putin, and stated that the countries will survive them. “We will survive. We have experience,” he said.
