Not Kyiv's 'Dynamo', but a Nationalist Group: The Football Club Has No Connection to the Photo
Since the start of the military actions initiated by Russia in Ukraine on February 24, various photographs have been actively circulated on the internet, either being old and unrelated to this war or misrepresenting their circumstances. One such photo claims to be a group photo of Kyiv's 'Dynamo' football players. Internet users have shared it, presenting the armed individuals depicted in the photo as members of Kyiv's Dynamo football team.
The image has spread widely across the internet, including in Armenian-speaking regions. Even the Google search engine associates it with the football team representing the capital of Ukraine.
In reality, the photo has no connection to the well-known football club. The individuals depicted in it are members of the Ukrainian far-right nationalist group 'Гонор'. The photo was posted on the group's Instagram page and on the Facebook page of the group's leader, Sergey Filimonov, on February 25.
Thus, it is established that the photograph of individuals in military uniforms, which has been circulated on the internet as evidence of Kyiv's 'Dynamo' football players' participation in the war, has no connection to the football club. The persons depicted in it are members of the Ukrainian far-right nationalist group 'Гонор'.
