Erdogan Reiterates Mediation Offer to Russia and Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again offered his mediation services to Russia and Ukraine. This information was reported by Fahrettin Altun, head of the Turkish President's Communications Directorate.

"We are witnessing yet another war in our region. President Erdogan is ready to act as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, as we have strong relations with both countries," Altun wrote on Twitter.

The Turkish official stated that Ankara has done everything at a diplomatic level to prevent the current situation. According to him, the calls by Turkey to reform the UN system have been ignored, and now everyone has seen the horrific consequences of that neglect.

Altun believes that this war could have been avoided if those in power had listened to Ankara's calls. "We have repeatedly called for a diplomatic solution, but now war stands before us as a reality. The lack of unity in the international community on a number of regional and global issues has been a serious problem, as has been evident during the Russian-Ukrainian crisis," Altun pointed out.

The representative of Erdogan's administration noted that there are many assumptions and interpretations regarding Turkey's policy. "Turkey's diplomatic moves and its coordination with its allies are always aimed at a swift and peaceful resolution of conflicts. Let no one doubt this. Turkey believes in the constructive and creative power of diplomacy in every crisis and strives to make the most of all diplomatic opportunities," Altun stated.
