Ukraine's Foreign Minister Proposes Deployment of UN Peacekeepers in the Country

Kiev has reminded the UN that it requested the start of a peacekeeping operation in the country back in 2015. This was reported by Gazeta.ru, citing the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba.

According to him, the UN should consider all its available tools that do not require the approval of the Security Council.

Earlier, former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko had suggested that the Ukrainian authorities include the issue of sending UN peacekeeping troops to Donbas in the agenda of a possible Russia-US summit. He stated his intention to provide detailed proposals regarding the American-Russian negotiations to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the CSTO, Stanislav Zas, announced that the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) could send peacekeepers to Donbas. He emphasized that the deployment of peacekeepers would require Kiev's consent.
