"A Document is Being Discussed": Sagatelyan on the Upcoming Rubinyan-Kylych Meeting

In fact, both sides are discussing a document. This opinion was expressed today, on February 23, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly by the Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia and member of the "Hayastan" faction, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, ahead of the Rubinyan-Kylych meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

"Otherwise, what are they negotiating about? If we are talking about establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, then what is the point of lengthy discussions? They should just announce in one sentence that diplomatic relations are being established and ambassadors are being exchanged. This is the protocol. Look at how it's happened with other countries," said Sagatelyan.

Meanwhile, if the negotiations are ongoing, according to the opposition figure, this means that a document on Armenian-Turkish reconciliation is being discussed, which will undermine Armenia's interests and reflect Turkey's and Azerbaijan's preconditions either publicly or secretly.

It is noteworthy that tomorrow, on February 24, the second meeting of the special representatives of the two countries within the framework of the Armenia-Turkey normalization process is scheduled to take place in Vienna. The first meeting of the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey was held in Moscow on January 14.
