New Guinness Record: Strawberry Weighs More Than World Record

A record has been set in Israel, where men have grown a record-breaking strawberry measuring 18 centimeters in length and weighing 289 grams. This information was reported by the official website of the Guinness World Records.

On February 12, 2021, the Ariel brothers decided to weigh a massive Ilan variety strawberry grown at a family plantation in Kadirah-Tzoran. They compared the harvested fruit with an iPhone XR, weighing the smartphone and the fruit sequentially. It turned out that the strawberry was nearly 100 grams heavier.

After measuring the remaining parameters, the relatives found that the strawberry's length was 18 centimeters, thickness was 4 centimeters, and circumference was 34 centimeters. When the men realized that the weight of their strawberry exceeded the world record, they submitted an application to the official website of the Guinness World Records, inviting a representative to register the record. To prevent the strawberry from spoiling, the brothers had frozen it.

The brothers had to wait a year for the record to be registered, and it was only after one year of submitting the application that the record was officially acknowledged. The creator of the Ilan variety strawberry was present during the weighing of the fruit.
