Car Accident in Yerevan: Minor Hospitalized
Today, on February 20, a car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 11:30 AM, two vehicles collided on Arshakunyats Avenue: a Lexus driven by 26-year-old Liana Salmanian and a Honda Passport driven by 64-year-old Ararat Mkrtchyan.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan who reported from the scene, a minor boy was transported to the “Holy Mother of God” Medical Center as a result of the accident. The on-duty medical team acted promptly, providing initial first aid to the child at the scene before he was taken to the hospital.
The patrol officers from the Yerevan division of the police’s patrol service, led by the commander of the battalion Aram Dadoyan and the platoon commander Gevorg Torosyan, also arrived promptly.
Additional patrol officers, including Alexan Gasparyan and junior officer Vahe Muradyan, implemented enhanced service at the site to prevent curious drivers from parking their vehicles and causing traffic jams, allowing pedestrians to cross the street safely, as the accident took place at a pedestrian crossing.
The Yerevan division of the patrol service informed the investigative unit handling road traffic accidents, where a duty group arrived under the leadership of unit head Grigor Avetisyan and senior investigator Grigor Kirakosyan. Preparations for documentation regarding the incident are underway by G. Kirakosyan. The patrol service is also working to identify the injured party.
