Mortars Prohibited by Minsk Agreements Used in Donbass

The situation in Donbass has escalated since February 17. The parties accuse each other of multiple violations of the ceasefire and shelling of populated areas. Ukraine denies any plans to attack Donbass, reaffirming its commitment to a diplomatic resolution.

The Foreign Ministries of Germany and France condemned the shelling of residential areas along the contact line in Donbass and the use of heavy weapons. This was stated in a joint declaration by Ministers Annalena Baerbock and Jean-Yves Le Drian.

According to the Donetsk Center for Monitoring and Coordinating the Ceasefire, "Ukrainian security forces shelled the Dokuchaevsk area with mortars prohibited by the Minsk agreements," as reported by РИА Новости. It was noted that the Ukrainian armed formations fired 15 shells of 120 millimeters caliber. Earlier, there were reports of shelling in the village of Zaytsevo.
