Election of Rector at Shiraz State University Takes Place

On February 19, the competition for the vacant position of rector was held at Shiraz State University. The sole candidate for the position was Yervand Serobyan, who has served as the acting rector of the university for nearly three years.

During the meeting convened for the election of the rector, 19 out of the 20 members of the Board of Trustees were present. Yervand Serobyan presented his vision for the development of Shiraz State University in accordance with the established procedures and answered questions from the board members.

Subsequently, a counting commission was formed, and secret voting took place. As a result of the voting, 12 out of the 19 members of the Board of Trustees voted in favor of Yervand Serobyan, while 7 voted against him.

Following the voting process, the Board of Trustees made a decision to elect Yervand Serobyan as the rector of Shiraz State University. It is noteworthy that several previous competitions had also been held without resulting in a rector's election.
