VIDEO: 'I have taken the money, I will go tomorrow and do it.' NSS releases recording of spies' conversations

The investigation into the cases of state betrayal and espionage continues at the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the NSS.

Considering the public interest in this criminal case, the National Security Service informs that within the framework of the proceedings conducted, information has been obtained indicating that Armenian citizens involved in the intelligence network transmitted various military information from the battlefield, at the request of foreign intelligence, during the forty-four-day war.

As a result of the anti-state activities of these individuals, the enemy was provided the opportunity to gain precise knowledge about the Armenian troops, military units, types and numbers of military equipment, their possible tactics for attack, defense, counteroffensive, tactical changes, and more, even acquiring the geographical coordinates of Armenian forces clearly marked on a map.

The anti-state activities that undermine the foundations of the state and threaten territorial integrity risk the lives of those selflessly fighting on the battlefield. As a result, the enemy has made precise strikes using drones and various types of artillery, incapacitating Armenian units and hindering the implementation of their assigned tasks.

It is notable that foreign intelligence has primarily involved former or current military personnel in the espionage network, who, due to their service, have had access to military units in Armenia and Artsakh, have been able to reach combat positions, and have been acquainted with various documents and information related to the military field.

Utilizing their authority among peers, these treasonous individuals have entered military units, ascended to combat positions, covertly filmed, recorded the types and numbers of military equipment, photographed maps of military significance, acquired other information, and passed it on to representatives of foreign intelligence in exchange for payment.

With a sufficient collection of evidence obtained during the investigation of the criminal case, charges have been brought against a total of 20 individuals for committing and aiding state treason, with pre-trial detention as a precautionary measure imposed on 14 of them.

The investigation continues, and comprehensive operational and investigative measures are being taken to clarify the entire scope of individuals involved in the espionage network, to initiate criminal proceedings against them, and to neutralize the activities of foreign intelligence within the armed forces.

It is worth noting that other cases classified under the signs of state treason at the NSS Investigative Department have also revealed numerous instances where individuals participating in combat operations were recruited during the war and passed strategically significant data and documents to foreign special services, thereby weakening the security of their own country and assisting the enemy in addressing various combat challenges and gaining significant advantages on the battlefield.
