Protest with Pots and Pans in Turkey

Women in Turkey have staged a protest against the unprecedented inflation recorded in recent months, according to Ermenihaber.

Organized by a group called the Women’s Advisory Platform, the demonstration took place in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, where women took to the streets with pots and pans to express their discontent over the rising cost of living in the country. It was noted that the group aimed to hold the gathering in the district's square, but police obstructed the event, claiming that the objects held by the women could cause harm to people.

The protesters carried out their demonstration on the street, accompanied by singing, dancing, and a police presence. It is noteworthy that, according to data published by Turkey's National Statistical Institute, the country recorded a record inflation rate of 36.08 percent in 2021.
