Gunfire from Azerbaijani Positions Targeting People Working in Khramort Agricultural Land

Today, around 15:30, gunfire was opened from an entrenched Azerbaijani position near the community of Khramort in the Askeran region of the Republic of Artsakh, targeting individuals performing agricultural work with a tractor in the administrative area of the same community. As a result, the tractor was struck, but the civilians were rescued thanks to the intervention of Russian peacekeepers.

The Artsakh Police are documenting and recording the material traces of the aforementioned criminal incident. Instead of threatening the citizens of the Republic of Artsakh with arrest and criminal liability, we would advise the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to take minimum measures to prevent incidents aimed at the physical elimination of the peaceful population of Artsakh and to hold accountable those who committed such criminal acts. This is not only the only civilized approach for countries that claim to seek peace, but also an obligation publicly undertaken by the Republic of Azerbaijan, which has joined the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
