Figure Skater Nathan Chen, Student of Harutyunyan, Becomes Olympic Champion

Nathan Chen is the gold medalist in men’s singles figure skating at the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. He scored 218.63 points in the free skate and accumulated a total of 332.60 points overall. Earlier, Chen set a world record and was recognized as the best in the short program.

Representatives from Japan, Yuma Kagiyama and Shoma Uno, took the second and third places, respectively.

Rafael Harutyunyan has been coaching Nathan Chen since 2011. During this time, Chen has become a three-time world champion and a bronze medalist in the team event at the Olympic Games. It is noteworthy that one of Nathan Chen's performances was set to a song by Charles Aznavour.
