The City is Drowning in Filth: The Mayor Issued a Directive

During a working consultation at the Yerevan City Hall, it was reported that 93 calls had been received through hotlines, with the highest number coming from the Kentron administrative district, totaling 27 calls. Some of the calls addressed communal issues, including 29 related to waste collection and 22 regarding elevator and water and sewage line problems.

Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan complained about the pollution in Yerevan, stating, “I don’t know why, but the city is drowning in filth... Human resources are more important.”

He also directed to present a proposal to add 200 more cleaning staff positions, as there are currently 300 cleaners in Yerevan.
