National Assembly Invites Drivers to Discuss Issues Related to Insurance Price Increase

"The mandatory insurance will not increase," Artak Khachaturov, a defender of drivers' rights and participant in the fight against the insurance price hike, insisted in an interview with "Pastinfo."

As previously reported, drivers have been organizing protests for the past week against the rise in mandatory insurance prices. Today, another demonstration was held near the auto insurance bureau, where they also demanded the resignation of the director.

In an interview with the media, Khachaturov stated that the responses to their pressing questions during the meeting with the director were unsatisfactory, with inadequate answers being provided. "I explicitly asked the bureau's director: What is this service? When you say you are increasing prices to improve service quality, list the improvements so that people can demand them, saying, 'You promised these specific things.' But there were no concrete items mentioned; apart from calculations, there was no justification in the responses," Khachaturov conveyed.

The drivers' next protest was scheduled for February 9, but the National Assembly suggested discussing the issue instead. According to him, all interested parties have been invited, including insurance companies, the auto insurance bureau, and the Central Bank.

Khachaturov informed that the meeting will be held on Monday, February 14.
