‘Dvin’ Complex’s Unauthorized Structure Recognized as Legal; Company to Transfer 228 Million AMD to Municipality
The Yerevan Municipality has recognized the unauthorized structure of the ‘Dvin’ hotel complex as legal. The decision has been published on the official website of the Yerevan Municipality. It is stated that within a 60-day period from the date of the decision's adoption, the company must transfer 228,654,633 AMD as a legalization fee to the budget of Yerevan.
The organization and accountability for the implementation of this decision falls under the responsibility of the head of the Architecture and Urban Development Department of the Yerevan Municipality, with oversight by the secretary of the Yerevan Municipality staff.
It is recalled that months ago, Haykakan Zhamanak reported that on the land owned by the ‘Dvin’ hotel complex at 40 Paronyan Street in Yerevan, an unauthorized structure with a total area of 15,823.85 square meters had appeared.
The former Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, had stated at one of the city council meetings that there was a strange two-story glass structure on the hotel which was illegal. Later, the municipality had communicated that a protocol had been drawn up concerning the fact of additional unauthorized floors being built that were outside the approved project requirements for a residential building at the same address and added that the unauthorized structures were discovered on August 18, 2021.
