Video: Charges Filed Against Hasmik Poghosyan's Daughter-in-Law
As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case under the supervision of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, the circumstances involving the legalization of property obtained through criminal means by Francesca Kutrup, daughter-in-law of former Minister of Culture of Armenia and vice-president of the 'Armenian Organization for Cultural Relations and Cooperation with Foreign Countries', Hasmik Poghosyan, have been clarified.
The Investigative Committee reports that, according to the factual data obtained during the investigation, Francesca Kutrup, who served as director of a company registered in the offshore zone of the British Virgin Islands, during 2011-2014, concealed and distorted the origin and ownership of a building located at 3 Abovyan Street, Yerevan, with a total area of 526.9 square meters and a land plot of 0.0467 hectares, which belonged to the aforementioned NGO with the preliminary agreement of the president, vice-president, and a member of the NGO's board, as well as the director of a joint-stock company, through a formal transaction.
Subsequently, she possessed and managed this particularly large property, selling the rights to it and registering it in the names of several individuals and in the name of the aforementioned company registered in the British Virgin Islands.
Based on the collected sufficient evidence, Francesca Kutrup has been charged under the first point of the third part of Article 190 of the RA Criminal Code. A search warrant has been issued for her arrest, and custody has been chosen as a measure of restraint. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
