Photos: 12th Century Cross-Stones Discovered
In the forested areas surrounding Stepanakert, previously unknown 12th-century cross-stones have been discovered. This was announced by the State Service for the Preservation of Historical Environment through their official Facebook page.
It was noted that the cross-stones were uncovered and reported to the authorities by a resident of Stepanakert, David Harutyunyan. “Recently, resident David Harutyunyan approached us and stated that he had seen large cross-stones in the forests around Stepanakert. We decided to visit with David and found that these cross-stones from the 12th century are not registered,” the statement reads.
The State Service for the Preservation of Historical Environment expressed gratitude to the resident of Artsakh for discovering the ancient cross-stones.
