Another Attempt to Expand Sidewalk at the Expense of Green Zone Prevented

As a result of the cooperation between the public order protection service of the Yerevan city hall, the urban development and land control department, and the staff of the Center administrative district, another case of illegal construction has been prevented. This information has been reported by the Yerevan city hall.

The owner of the "Cascade Shoes" store had illegally paved the green area adjacent to 1 Tamanian Street in the Center administrative district with concrete, including existing trees and bushes. The likely intention was to expand the sidewalk area at the expense of the green zone.

Immediately after documenting the fact, measures were taken to free the area and restore it to its previous condition.

It should be reminded that according to Article 157 of the Administrative Violations Code of the Republic of Armenia, the destruction or damage of green areas in places of public use, as well as violations of the rules for the preservation and use of public green areas in Yerevan, subject the violator to administrative liability. Relevant measures are currently being taken in this direction.
