US Has Not Responded to Russia's Proposals on Security Guarantees
The US authorities have not published their response to Russia’s proposals regarding security guarantees. This was stated by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby during a briefing with reporters.
He commented on a publication in the Spanish newspaper El Pais, which allegedly presents the full text of the US and NATO's secret response to the Russian Federation's proposals for security guarantees.
The document reportedly states that the US is ready to begin dialogues concerning arms control in response to the withdrawal of troops and peacekeepers from Crimea, Transnistria, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia.
Additionally, the US and NATO purportedly called on Russia to return to the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe treaty, include new types of intercontinental nuclear weapons in arms control agreements, and conduct inspections at missile defense sites in Poland and Romania.
