Black Ice on Syunik Roads: Current Situation in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Stony Lake are closed.

With the use of chains, the Vardenyats Pass is open for trucks with trailers. There is black ice on the roads in the Syunik region.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Tskhinvali-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
