Moscow Has Not Responded to Washington's Proposals: What Response Has There Been?

Russia has yet to convey a response to the United States regarding security guarantees. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the State Department announced that Moscow had responded to the proposals conveyed by Washington, but conducting negotiations in the public domain is ineffective, hence details have not yet been disclosed.

Russian officials are still preparing a response to the U.S. and NATO, the diplomatic high-ranking source added in the interview. He confirmed that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sent a message to Western partners, notably to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, but this concerns the principle of the indivisibility of security and is not a response per se.

It is worth recalling that in recent months, Washington and Brussels have accused Moscow of orchestrating an 'invasion' into Ukraine and are strengthening their presence in Eastern Europe. Russia rejects all allegations, emphasizing that it is moving troops within its own territories.
