Alen Simonyan on Arthur Vanetsyan's Cancellation of US Visit

Alen Simonyan stated that the issue of Arthur Vanetsyan's cancellation of his visit to the US as part of the parliamentary delegation is no longer relevant. He made this remark during a conversation with reporters, referring to the leader of the 'Honorary' faction's decision to cancel his meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

It should be noted that Vanetsyan explained that he was informed at the last minute that he would not participate in the meeting. According to Simonyan, they had many other important meetings in the US: 'If Arthur Vanetsyan wanted to see Pelosi personally and talk to her, that would be a different conversation, but if it’s about the activity of a political figure, that’s another issue. The reality is that the delegation was reduced because of COVID, which is why only 1-2 of us could enter; there was no intention involved, and I think we should not focus on that.'

According to Alen Simonyan, the opposition isolates itself from important processes: 'I extend all invitations, but they refuse for various reasons. Often, I personally call opposition MPs and offer them to participate; they get excited, and then say they weren’t allowed by the faction. If a person wants to work, they work.'
