VIDEO: "16 plastic bags. Is this how you fight?" – MP

Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, wrote:

"HOW AND WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT 'FIGHTING' AGAINST PLASTIC? Yesterday, I went to the store. I bought a few cucumbers, a carrot, a beet, some onions, a bit of fruit, a handful of peanuts, eggs, toast bread, and lavash. Everything was in thin plastic bags. There is simply no other option. Additionally, I had water packaged in a plastic bottle for the car. All this was stuffed into two 'thick' plastic bags, which supposedly meet the government's new regulatory requirements. They charged me an extra 90 drams and handed me 16 plastic bags (14 small thin ones and 2 thick ones). Is this how the Government of Armenia is 'fighting' against plastic bags? Has the circulation of plastic bags decreased? What kind of deception is this? Plastic is everywhere, and now we pay 45-50 drams for it. Who is benefiting from this? The manufacturers and sellers of plastic bags. Or maybe that's where the dog is buried? A few businessmen are making exorbitant profits by squeezing money from the people, while the government justifies this looting with beautiful words."
