Azerbaijan Has Lost 110 Military Personnel Since the 44-Day War
Azerbaijan's irreversible losses in the defense and security sector since the end of the Patriotic War (the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war in 2020) have reached 110 personnel as of January 31, 2021. This information is detailed in a report by the Caspian Institute for Military Research.
According to the published data, 15 soldiers died from injuries sustained during combat, 10 from landmine explosions, while the remaining fatalities occurred under non-combat situations, as reported by Azerbaijani media outlets.
The majority of the deaths among military personnel have been confirmed by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense and various law enforcement authorities.
In the pre-war period, specifically in 2019, losses in the Azerbaijani armed forces amounted to 47 personnel.
