Russia's Embassy in Armenia Sends Noteworthy Congratulations: Iran Expert

Iran expert Vardan Oskanyan writes: "Among the congratulations issued today on the occasion of Army Day, I find the remarks from the Russian Embassy in Armenia to be particularly noteworthy. It literally states that the main guarantee of our country's peace and prosperity is the Armenian army.

If we carefully analyze this multifaceted statement, it also serves as an answer to the advocates of a lumpen mentality, who suggest that peace and prosperity in Armenia can supposedly be secured through 'trade' with the enemy. On the other hand, it hints that, faced with hostile challenges, the security of our state must primarily be ensured by our own army.

In parallel, the same message clearly states that Russia is practically ready to provide allied support in strengthening and empowering the Armenian army. I have mentioned several times that during this period filled with challenges and dangers for Armenia, serious opportunities have also opened up before us, which should be utilized primarily for the exceptional purpose of enhancing our state's military security, rather than being buried in hollow promises of seemingly pleasing 'eras of peace.'"
