Shooting Begins at Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan Border

Shooting has erupted between border guards of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the press service of Kyrgyzstan's border agency.

According to the announcement, the Tajik side is using mortars and grenade launchers. Kyrgyz border guards have entered enhanced service as Tajik border guards unilaterally blocked a section of the road connecting Kyrgyzstan's Batken and Isfana cities in the Tort Kocho area of Batken region.

Officials from both countries have gone to the scene to diffuse the situation.
