Red Cross Reports Discovery of Remains After 44-Day War

In the autumn of 2020, following the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, more than 1,700 remains have been discovered in the war zone, with hundreds of individuals still reported missing, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The ICRC is one of the few international organizations conducting humanitarian missions in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Approximately 300 people are still considered missing since the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020. Since the signing of the ceasefire agreement in November 2020, more than 1,700 remains have been recovered, and the process of identifying them and returning to their families has begun," the organization stated on its official website.
