Kyrgyzstan Declares: Tajikistan Deploying Heavy Machinery to the Border, Situation Tense

The Tajik side is currently relocating heavy machinery and personnel to the conflict area near the border with Kyrgyzstan. This was announced by the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee, as reported by TASS.

Major General Ularbek Sharshiev, the director of the Border Service, stated that it is the Tajik side that has not ceased fire; moreover, they continue to pull heavy military equipment and personnel towards the border.

The total number of injured on both sides has reached 17. Among them are 13 Tajiks, including 11 servicemen (one in critical condition) and two civilians, while there are four casualties from the Kyrgyz side. This information was reported by Sputnik Tajikistan, referencing the hospital in Spitamen.

It is also noted that evacuations are being conducted for residents in border settlements in Tajikistan.

Recall that the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported the onset of gunfire between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards. According to the agency, the Tajik side is using grenade launchers and mortars, while the cause of the conflict has been the closure of the road connecting the Kyrgyz cities of Isfana and Batken by Tajik soldiers.

The border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan repeatedly becomes a zone of conflict between the local residents and border guards of the two countries. This is due to undefined segments where it is difficult to determine how the border between the states passes.
