Call to Cease Fire Between Countries: CSTO Secretary General's Appeal to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

The Secretary General of the CSTO has urged Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to immediately cease fire along their borders, TASS reports. He noted that the CSTO is ready to provide assistance to both countries for peaceful conflict resolution.

The situation along the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has escalated, with reports of gunfire incidents. This has been confirmed by the State Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Border units stationed in the area of Batken region, where tensions have risen, have moved to enhanced duty.
