Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Resigns

Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Gayane Melkom-Melkomyan has submitted her resignation. She announced this on her Facebook page.

“Dear friends, yesterday was my last working day at the Yerevan City Hall. Over the past three years, first as a council member and then as Deputy Mayor, I have exerted my utmost abilities to justify the mandate and trust bestowed upon me and have performed my duties with great love and dedication. I consider the contributions of my outstanding colleagues from the council invaluable, some of whom, unfortunately, have resigned from their mandates.

I deeply regret the unfinished programs and reforms in the areas entrusted to me. However, under the current circumstances, I believe that the conclusion of my public service at the Yerevan City Hall is logical and justified.

I am grateful to Haik Marutyan and all my colleagues for their trust and collaborative efforts, and to my friends for their support and for dreaming together,” Melkom-Melkomyan stated.
