We Are Prepared for Any Development of Events: Lavrov

We see that our Western partners are in some sort of military atmosphere, only saying, 'We will punish, you will attack, we will save Ukraine.' You read the hysterical statements that the West is forming its position with. We are prepared for any development of events.

This was stated today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the State Duma.

Regarding Russia's security guarantees, Lavrov said they will not allow them to become a subject of endless discussions, to be 'wrapped up' in proposals involving the OSCE or the European Union's participation.

'If a constructive response does not follow and the West continues its aggressive course, then Moscow, as the president has repeatedly stated, will take the necessary retaliatory measures,' the Russian Foreign Minister announced.
