No Bulgarian Soldier Will Participate in Military Conflict in Ukraine
The Bulgarian Minister of Defense, Stefan Yanev, has declared that no Bulgarian soldier will participate in military conflicts in Ukraine or any other country without the approval of the parliament, reports the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
This statement was made following a separate meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Security Service. “No Bulgarian soldier will participate in any conflict or operation in Ukraine or any other country without the confirmation of this decision by the National Assembly,” said the Minister of Defense during the hearings.
He also noted that there are no plans for the participation of Bulgarian armed forces in military formations outside the country. Nevertheless, he confirmed that a special battalion will be created in Bulgaria, which will be trained and ready for various types of scenarios, BNR reports.
