Ashot Minasyan to Be Released: Detention Measure Changed
Today, in the Goris seat of the first instance court of the Syunik region of Armenia, a decision was made to release Ashot Minasyan, commander of the ‘Sisakan’ squad. The court decided to change the detention measure applied to Ashot Minasyan and to impose a signature not to leave as a precautionary measure along with bail.
The bail amount was set at 2 million drams.
It is noteworthy that Ashot Minasyan is charged under Article 235, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transport, or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, or explosive devices). He was also accused of preparing to attempt the murder of a high-ranking official, but that part of the case has been dismissed.
It is important to mention that former NSS director Arthur Vanetsyan, head of the 'I Have Honor' faction, and Republican Party member Vahram Baghdasaryan were also involved in the case.
