NATO Will Not Deploy Combat Troops in Ukraine, Media Reports
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that NATO will not send troops to Ukraine. This was reported on Tuesday by CNN correspondent Natasha Bertrand, referencing Stoltenberg's interview with Christiane Amanpour on the same network.
“NATO will not deploy combat forces in Ukraine,” Bertrand quoted Stoltenberg on her Twitter without specifying the context.
Recently, there have been increasing statements in the West and Ukraine regarding Russia’s possible "invasion" of Ukrainian territory. Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov called such reports empty and an unfounded escalation of tensions, emphasizing that Russia poses no threat to anyone. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of provocations aimed at justifying such statements and warned that attempts to solve issues through force in southeastern Ukraine would have very serious consequences.
