A Peace Agreement Must Be Signed Between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Says Pashinyan
A peace agreement must be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but before that document is signed, it needs to be formulated and negotiations must take place. Armenia is ready for negotiations, and we have always stated this. This was announced by Nikol Pashinyan during an online press conference.
As for the comments regarding whether Armenia should recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, Pashinyan stated that there is an agreement ratified by the Armenian Parliament in 1992, which records that Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, and such an agreement has also been ratified by Azerbaijan.
According to Pashinyan, one of the principles recorded in the Madrid Principles, which has become the basis for negotiations, is the principle of territorial integrity, which both sides have accepted as the basis for negotiations.
Pashinyan also emphasized that the agenda of opening a region for peaceful development for Armenia and the region is a strategic agenda for their government.
