Yerevan Zoo Issues Clarification

The Yerevan Zoo has issued a statement in response to recent reports in some media about disruptions in the zoo's normal operations and claims regarding animals' deaths due to starvation.

The clarification states: "The zoo regularly records natural births and deaths among the animals, and reports are periodically submitted to the relevant authorities. In recent months, no suspicious deaths of animals have been recorded, except for two white-tailed and black vultures. A professional examination revealed findings consistent with chronic poisoning. Samples of the animals have been sent for laboratory toxicological analysis, and only after receiving the results will a final conclusion be possible.

We urge media outlets to refrain from citing unverified 'sources' that spread unsubstantiated and misleading information."
