Pashinyan Dismisses Candidate for Human Rights Defender Position
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has relieved Kristine Grigoryan, the candidate for the Human Rights Defender position, of her duties as the Deputy Minister of Justice. The decision was published on the e-gov informational platform of the Armenian government.
"Pursuant to Article 9, Part 1 of the Law on Public Service, Kristine Grigoryan is dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Justice," the prime minister's decision states.
It is worth noting that the Civil Contract party decided to nominate Kristine Grigoryan for the position of Human Rights Defender in early December 2021. The term of office of the current Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan, expires on February 23, 2022.
