Pashinyan Again Took the Black and White Road

Pashinyan Again Took the Black and White Road

On January 19, a delegation led by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, met with the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. This was the most significant meeting on the agenda of the visit, which prompted Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Honorary Title" faction, to decide to join the delegation. However, before his departure, upon learning that only representatives of the government—Hayk Konjoryan, Maria Karapetyan, and Armenia's Ambassador to the U.S. Lilith Makunts—would attend the meeting, he canceled his trip.

We inquired with the "Honorary Title" faction about who had composed the list of participants for the meeting with Pelosi and how Vanetsyan's participation would have harmed the Armenian authorities. They stated that they weren't sure, but they are confident that the author of this idea is Pashinyan. This means that while they propose meeting with the opposition, on the other hand, they hinder their participation in any events. This was the best opportunity to cooperate with the parliamentary opposition, while Pashinyan again took the black and white road.
